The clock is ticking, and she is still waiting
For the flower to bloom one day

It did not, when the wind had knocked the door,
There was rage, there was a hint of impatience,
She failed to reach in time to open the door

It did not, when the rain had soaked her such,
She was at a loss for words,
In the shivering cold of that night, she failed to light the fire

It did not that day, when the song touched her soul,
It soothed her, comforted her, she hummed the tune for that entire day,
Before the mind found it’s way to wander away

But today is different, leaves are green and outside the robin sings,
The wind is gentle and the sky is clear, it isn’t going to rain
The house is clean and she is ready to greet Him when he comes knocking today,

The clock is ticking, and she is waiting
For the flower to bloom today…
